Telework Frequently Asked Questions

Telework Coordinator

Q:
Is the agency required to check the safety and security of a home-based telework office?

A:
No, the agency is not required to visit the teleworker’s home to inspect it for safety and ergonomics, although agency policy may establish that a manager or other official has the right to do so. Agency policies may include self-certify safety/security checklists that managers can use as a proxy for an onsite visit.
