Booz Allen used a structured approach to comprehensively examine technology barriers to telework.
The first step to examine technology barriers to telework was to review project background and schedules. (Deliverable 1: Full Project Plan and Schedule).
The next step was to conduct a survey of key telecommuting technologies. (Deliverable 2: Assessment of Key Teleworking Technologies). This assessment was done by developing a detailed data collection approach consisting of:
- conducting interviews with CIO staff
- conducting focus groups of telework coordinators
- administering questionnaire to teleworkers and teleworker managers
- conducting case study interviews
(Deliverable 3: Senior Management and Telework Program Management Perspectives on Technology Barriers and Deliverable 4: Questionnaire Results and Case Study Organizations' Perspectives on Technology Barriers).
The next step was to analyze the results of the interviews, focus groups, questionnaire, and case study interviews. From these results, a draft of the final report was developed (Deliverable 5: Develop Draft Final Report).
The findings in the draft final report were reviewed with stakeholders; from this review, a final report was developed (Deliverable 6: Develop Final Report).
