Telework Talk

Thank you for your interest in this discussion about telework in the Federal government.  A number of specific questions are posed below to frame the discussion.  We are especially interested in learning about viable solutions to telework challenges.  It is also important that you respond to background questions. Being aware of your experience will help us to understand differing perspectives as well as give us some idea of how your solutions can be implemented most effectively.

In addition to providing your own unique ideas, you have the opportunity to vote on solutions offered by others. If you would like to offer a variation or an alternative for a proposed solution, please provide your alternative as a separate suggestion.

Keep in mind that only Federal employees with a valid .gov or .mil email address can vote on or offer telework ideas and solutions.  The general public is, however, welcomed to visit and follow the general discussion.

Telework barriers/challenges in government and industry have been described and can include office coverage, management resistance, organizational culture, IT (security and/or funding), accessibility/universal design, and lack of training. What experience do you have—if any—with these or other telework barriers/challenges you may have faced? How did you or your organization overcome them?
